Activists take to the streets in Switzerland against Turkey

The attack carried out by the Turkish state on the village of Helîncê in Kobanê as a result of which three women lost their life, was protested in Switzerland.

The protests were organised by the Swiss Kurdish Women's Movement (YJK-S) and took place in the cities of Bern, Basel, Geneva and Zurich.

BERN

The people of Kurdistan and their friends met at Bahnhofplatz in Bern.

Activists carried the photographs of the three women who lost their lives in the massacre as well as PKK and YPG flags and the photos of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Speeches were delivered by the Women’s Council and Defend Rojava activists.

BASEL

Activists protested the attacks of the Turkish state, which targeted once again women. Kurds and their friends gathered in front of the Canton Parliament in Markplatz.

ZURICH

Activists protested against the attacks carried out by the Turkish state against Kurdistan in front of St Jacob church in Helvetiaplatz.

In the speeches delivered at the demonstration activists condemned the constant targeting of women by the Turkish state.

The action ended with a call to join the Swiss central march and rally, which will be held in Helvetiaplatz on Saturday, 27 June.

GENEVA

Kurdish people gathered in front of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights building in Geneva, protesting the Turkish state attacks targeting women.
