Ahmet Türk's call for civil rebellion

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Ahmet Türk said that “The arrests turned into a political genocide. We will break all the chains of this oppression and never make compromises about our values. Our people will begin civil rebellions for freedom.”

Thousands of people, included DTK Co-Chairs Ahmet Türk and Aysel Tuðluk, BDP Diyarbakýr MPs Nursel Aydoðan, Altan Tan, Emine Ayna, DTK Coordination Committee member and Batman MP Ayla Akat Ata, Aðrý MP Halil Aksoy and BDP administrators, came together in Diyarbakýr to protest the ongoing operations against Kurdish politicians.  While the march to Koþuyolu Park was prevented and not allowed by police, BDP deputies were interfered with pressure water when they directed to police authorities to discuss the problem.

While Ayla Akat Ata and writer Yýlmaz Sezgin suffered distress caused by cannon water, demonstrators reacted to the intervention.

Making a statement after the intervention, DTK Co-Chair Ahmet Türk said that it would be a disgrace for the Prime Minister to talk about peace in this country. Türk said the followings; “You also witnessed the cruelty this evening. In our own lands and city, the works of a political party are publicly prevented. Our mayors, MYK and PM members have been targeted under the cover of ‘KCK’ which is an operation carried out against freedom callers. This politics has broken down. Our people will raise civil rebellions for freedom. We will never abandon our values and we will march to Gemlik on October 8th for peace, for the continuation of negotiations and for the removal of Öcalan’s isolation to enable him play his role.”
