Al-Naim Crossing cleared, 37 ISIS members surrender in Raqqa

The Al-Naim Crossing in central Raqqa has been cleared following fierce clashes during which 37 ISIS members surrendered to SDF and 11 gang members were killed.

The final phase of the Raqqa liberation campaign named after Martyr Adnan Abu Amjad, which aims to finish ISIS presence in the city, continues at full force and nears the end on its second day. Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters inflicted heavy blows on ISIS gangs during clashes around Al-Naim Crossing yesterday evening.

9 ISIS members were killed and 12 others surrendered to SDF during today’s clashes in the area that was cleared of ISIS following fierce fighting.

15 other ISIS members surrendered to SDF fighters during the clashes around Weteni Hospital and 10 more near the stadium. The gangs attempted car bomb attacks against SDF fighters twice but both bomb laden vehicles were destroyed before they reached their destination. Two ISIS members in these vehicles were also killed.

3 SDF fighters fell martyrs during clashes in the mentioned area where, on the other hand, 237 civilians were rescued and transferred to safe areas.
