Nine Turkish-backed mercenaries killed in clashes between the SDF and occupation forces in Tishrin

Several mercenaries were eliminated, others were injured, and multiple military vehicles and equipment were destroyed or seized during intense clashes between SDF forces and the Turkish occupation mercenaries in north of the Tishrin Dam.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the ongoing fighting in the area of the Tishrin area (Tishreen) Dam.

The SDF statement on Friday includes the following:

“At approximately 4:00 AM, heavy clashes erupted between our fighters and the mercenaries, lasting for an extended period. As a result, several mercenaries were eliminated or wounded and others fled the battlefield, abandoning their weapons and a military vehicle, which our fighters subsequently seized. The mercenaries later attempted to reclaim their position but faced fierce resistance by our fighters, resulting in additional casualties among the mercenaries. A third attempt was made following the arrival of reinforcements; however, they were once again forced to flee under the intensity of our fighters’ strikes. Ultimately, the mercenaries abandoned their position entirely and flee the area. Seven mercenaries were confirmed eliminated, with others wounded.

Additionally, our fighters targeted a gathering point belonging to mercenaries north of the Tishreen Dam, inflicting further casualties, though the exact numbers remain unknown. Our forces observed continued enemy movement within the same gathering point, so our fighters struck it again, leading to clashes that resulted in additional eliminations and injuries among the mercenaries. Furthermore, our forces successfully shot down a suicide drone.

In response to these attacks, the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) carried out a precise operation against a mercenary position north of the Tishreen Dam. This operation resulted in the confirmed elimination of two mercenaries and the injury of several others, and a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition were seized.

The confirmed losses of the mercenaries in the front of Tishreen Dam:

1. Two miliary vehicles were destroyed.

2. Military equipment and weapons were seized, including five BKC machine guns, one B7 weapon, one military quiver, one AK-47 rifle, one Mauser rifle, one military telescope, additional equipment.

3. Nine mercenaries were eliminated and 20 others wounded.

Throughout the day, Turkish occupation patrolled the skies, while Turkish heavy artillery shelling around the dam remained ongoing. Additionally, Turkish occupation forces resumed indiscriminate shelling of villages near the Qara Qwzaq Bridge using heavy artillery, rocket launchers, and tanks. The villages of Al-Tina, Ja’da, Bir Hisso, Dekan, and Melha, as well as the hills of Saifi and Qara Qwzaq south of Kobani, were targeted by approximately 50 shells. This bombardment caused significant material damage to civilian homes, farms, and other properties.”
