All HDP deputies to be at border today

Today DTK, DBP, HDP co-Presidents and HDP MPs are to visit the people maintaining a vigil against ISIS gangs at the Kobanê border, despite the attacks of Turkish police and soldiers.

While the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobanê that began on 15 September continue, the historic resistance of the YPG, YPJ and people of Kobanê and the border vigil of the people of North Kurdistan goes on. The vigil that began on 17 September is continuing to grow, in spite of many attacks by police and soldiers. More and more people are arriving in the villages of Alîzer, Dewşen, Bethê, Qop and Etmanek to the east of Kobanê, and Boyde and Swêdê to the west, and the attitude of soldiers has not changed.

2 vehicles burnt

Yesterday afternoon soldiers attacked people crossing from Kobanê to Etmanek to exchange Eid greetings with those at the vigil. In the evening these attacks had extended to Dewşen. The soldiers fired gas canisters, enveloping the villages in smoke, and set alight a midi-bus from Nusaybin municipality and a private vehicle that went to the area to pick up injured people. 5 people were injured by the gas canisters, and many others were taken into custody. Despite this, the people at the vigil did not leave the border, and during the night got over the barricades and returned to their vigil points. The vigil is continuing in all border villages.

Today, DTK, DBP, HDP co-Presidents and all HDP MPs are to go to Suruç district, and after visiting the DBP office and women, children and elderly people from Kobanê, will go to the village of Bethê and issue a press release.
