Ankara Medical Chamber: 103 people died in the bombing

Ankara Medical Chamber said 103 people lost their lives in the bombing, while 89 others are still receiving treatment at hospitals, including 20 being held under intensive care.

Ankara Medical Chamber has released a statement about the figures of casualties regarding the bloody bombing which targeted demonstrators demanding peace on October 10.

The Chamber said 103 people lost their lives in the bombing, while 89 others are still receiving treatment at hospitals, including 20 being held under intensive care.

The death toll rose to 103 after the identities of Nevzat Özbilgi, Hasan Baykara, Bedriye Batur, Fatma Batur,Ümit Seylan and Serdar Ben were identified through DNA samples given by their families.

Family of Gamze Akbaba, one of those who remained lost since the bombing, has also given blood sample for identification.

Nevzat Özbilgi will be laid to rest in Ağrı, Serdar Ben in Istanbul and Bedriye Batur and Fatma Batur in Alanya.

In the meantime, HDP Crisis Desk has announced that 20 families haven't been able reach their relatives yet. On the other hand, Forensic Medicine Institution informed that DNA test process has been initiated for two corpses that were entirely decomposed.

The perpetrators of the massacre remain under the protection of the state which has launched an investigation regarding the funerals of victims.

HDP Grup Deputy Chair Pervin Buldan has in the meantime submitted a written parliamentary question on the massacre, to which she demanded an answer from Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
