Around 500 people detained in two weeks

Around 500 people were detained in 2 weeks as a result of the attacks carried out by the AKP-MHP fascist government against the Kurdish people and the opposition.

The AKP-MHP government continues its political genocide practices. About 500 people were taken into custody in political genocide operations in just 15 days. More than 15 people were remanded in custody in the same period of time. Many of those taken into custody and arrested are HDP members. The government also detained workers carrying out resistance protests.

15 November: HDP Pazarcık District co-chair Naci Kızıler was taken into custody on the allegation of "member of the organization".

15 November: 6 people were taken into custody in the political genocide raids in Urfa Suruç.

16 November: 10 people were taken into custody in house raids in Van Özalp.

16 November: The co-mayor of Sur, Cemal Özdemir, who was replaced by a trustee, was remanded in custody.

18 November: Six people were taken into custody during the raid on the homes of HDP and TUAY-DER executives in Istanbul.

18 November: A woman was taken into custody in Urfa Siverek.

19 November: BİMEKS workers who organised a sit-in in front of Boğaziçi University in order to receive their salaries and compensation were taken into custody.
