Istanbul 3rd Court of Peace has issued an arrest warrant for Fethullah Gülen and journalist Emre Uslu within the framework of the ongoing investigation regarding the wiretapping of 101 people who include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Istanbul deputy public prosecutor İrfan Fidan had previously demanded an arrest warrant be issued for Gülen and Uslu on the grounds of “setting up an armed terror organization and leading it, attempting to overthrow the government of the Turkish Republic or to prevent its functioning, and obtaining classified documents of the state for political or military espionage”. Processing the demand, Istanbul 3rd Court of Peace has decided to issue the warrant for Gülen and Uslu.
