Article in Danish paper says RojTv trial political

An article by Mahmut Duvarcý and Mikkel Flohr on Arbejderen paper about the trial of Roj TV in Denmark, says the Roj Tv case is political because it was opened on the base on the 'terror paragraph' of the Article 11 of Danish Constitution.

The article on the paper pointed out that the relative concept of ‘terror’ has expanded to an ‘unusually’ wide area after September 11 attack in New York and noted that the prosecution opened a case against Roj TV on the grounds of promoting ‘terror’.

The article, reminding that Al Qaeda was announced to the world on September 11 by the CNN television, expressed that ‘nobody felt the need to sue or charge this channel at that time’.

It was remarked that same definitions were once made for Nelson Mandela whose name and organization’s reputation are not overshadowed any more.

The article recalled that serious negotiations were made during the process when Anders Fogh Rasmussen occupied the General Secretaryship of NATO.

The full-page article by Duvarcý and Flohr reminded that the Danish Radio and TV Board ruled three times that Roj Tv didn’t perform broadcasts that can be considered as propaganda or against the legislation.

The paper drew attention to the opinions of Danish Radio and TV Board Chair Christian W. Scherfig who described Roj Tv’s broadcast as objective and unbiased.
