People poured out into the streets across North Kurdistan and Turkey today in protest at ISIS gangs attacking the Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, and the AKP government of Turkey supporting them. Brutal police attacks across the country have also left a number of people wounded, including many in critical condition.
MUŞ
Police used real bullets against the people in Varto district of Muş, shooting 25-year-old Hakan Buksur dead after he was hit with a bullet on the head during the demo on Cumhuriyet Avenue.
AMED
Police in Amed attacked demonstrators in collaboration with pro-hezbollah groups. Mahmut Enez (55) from Derik district of Mardin, who sustained a critical injury on the neck as civilian fascists opened fire on the mass in Sur district lost his life while being transferred to hospital in ambulance.
Members of pro-hezbollah groups also attacked protestors in 5 Nisan neighborhood of Bağlar district. 19-year-old Süleyman Kaya who was seriously wounded in the armed attack was rushed to the Selahaddin Eyyubi State Hospital by the people around but couldn't survive.
SİİRT
Two people were killed after the mayor of Kurtalan, Nevzat Karatay, his family members and village guards reportedly opened fire on demonstrators protesting the ongoing attacks by ISIS gangs in Kurtalan district of Siirt. Y.Ç. (17) and Mehdi Erdoğan (35) lost their lives at Siirt state hospital where they had been referred for treatment.
MARDİN
In Kızıltepe district of Mardin where curfew was declared due to the growing protests in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance, 22-year-old Kerem Karaaslan was shot dead while joining a demo on the road to the Qûbikê village which demonstrators had closed to traffic when fire was opened on them from a car the plate number of which couldn't be identified.
Police also collaborated with Hüda-Par members in Dargeçit district where two youths joining the demo for Kobanê, Bilal Gezer and Sinan Toprak, were killed as a result of fire reportedly opened by HÜDA-PAR district branch chair Kadri Şengül and two sons of his.
BATMAN
22-year-old demonstrator Emrah Demir was killed and many others were wounded in Batman after fire was opened from the provincial office of the Hür Dava Party on the mass protesting for Kobanê on the Diyarbakır Avenue.
VAN
Hamdi Caner (55) was wounded after being shot with a bullet in the chest while joining a mass demo in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance. The man who was referred to Van Research and Training Hospital lost his life here.
