At least 38 gang members killed in Kobanê

YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Centre said in a written statement about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, that the ISIS attacks aiming to occupy the town continued for the 78th day as YPG/YPJ fighters are strengthening their dominance across the city and inflicting severe blows on the ISIS gangs that are on the other hand continuing their mortar attacks targeting the city center.

On the eastern front- the statement said- fierce and hand-to-hand combat took place between YPG units and ISIS groups in the Sukul Hal and Kaniya Kurda region on the eastern front. Eight members of the gangs were killed in the fighting.

Clashes that erupted around the Azadi Square and 48th Street early yesterday evening continued ceaselessly till early Tuesday morning. The ISIS groups were struck heavy blows in the fighting at three separate locations where 15 members of theirs were killed, including an emir (leader) named Esetullah El Shishani and a commander in charge of sanitary matters.

YPG/YPJ units also carried out offensives against some areas where the gang groups are deployed on the southern front, killing at least 12 gang members, seizing corpses of 5 militants and their arms.

Three other members of the ISIS groups were killed in another offensive that targeted the gangs based in the village of Menîtê to the southwest of Kobanê.

The statement added that 3 YPG/YPJ fighters have lost their lives fighting the ISIS gangs in the last 24 hours.
