Attack on the people keeping vigil in Boydê village

Turkish soldiers who attacked the people maintaining a resistance vigil along the border with teargas and water cannon yesterday, have this morning once again attacked people keeping vigil in the village of Boydê. The press and parliamentary deputies were also targeted in the attack by soldiers.

The violence by Turkish police and army against the people maintaining a resistance vigil at the border of Kobanê-Suruç in order to support the resistance of Kobanê is continuing. Turkish soldiers and the police who attacked people at the border and especially in the villages of Etmanik, Dewşan, Bedhê, Qow with teargas and pressurized water yesterday, attacked people keeping the vigil in the village of Boydê at around 08:00 this morning.

It is reported that a lot of teargas was used by the Turkish police and soldiers. 2 people were hurt after being hit by gas canisters, 1 in the neck, and the other in the back.

HDP deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız was targeted by Turkish police and was hit by a teargas canister as he approached a police armoured vehicle in order to speak with the police.

The soldiers also hit a vehicle of the Dicle News agency with a teargas canister, although the vehicle was clearly marked: “Dicle News Agency”. The windscreen of the vehicle was broken.

Attacks and the arrests are continuing in the region.
