Australian YPG member Johnston commemorated by his grave

Australian YPG fighter Johnston who lost his life in Rojava has been commemorated by his grave at the second anniversary of his martyrdom in the battle against ISIS.

YPG fighter Ashley Johnston (Serhat Bagok) who had lost his life in Rojava was commemorated by his grave in Australian capital Canberra at the second anniversary of his martyrdom whilst fighting in the ranks of Rojava (West) Kurdistan forces against ISIS.

Democratic Kurdish Society Center spokespersons, KNK member İsmet Taştan, Mother Amanda Johnston and Kurds attended the commemoration.

After a minute’s silence, Neslihan Yardım read the press statement in the name of the Preparation Committee.

Speaking after, KNK representative said: “Serhat Bagok sacrificed himself for the free future of the Kurdish people. We promise to be worthy of the legacy he has left us.”

The commemoration ended with slogans “Şehîd namirin” [Martyrs Are Immortal].
