An action was promoted in Basel, Switzerland to draw attention to the hunger strikes led by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven demanding the end of the isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

A rally promoted by the Basel Solidarity Platform with the Hunger Strikes was held in front of the city’s central railway station.

“Leyla Güven is on hunger strike against isolation” said the banner carried by activists who chanted slogans against Erdoğan and the AKP.

Activists read a statement in German condemning the silence and hypocritical policies of the European states.

The statement also called on the European public opinion to be sensitive to the demands of the hunger strikers who are at the threshold of death.

Today at 2 pm a march will be organised in Zurich city centre. The concentration point is at Helvetiaplatz.
