Kurdish politician Osman Baydemir called on the people of Amed and Urfa to cast their vote on 14 May and give their preference to the Green Left Party.
Kurdish politician and former mayor of Amed and former MP for Urfa, Osman Baydemir, called on people in both cities to cast their vote on 14 May and give their preference to the Green Left Party.
Baydemir was forced to go into exile and lives in London.
He said in his call to the people of Amed: “Amed is a city that has seen dozens of civilizations. And for us, for the Kurds, for those who believe in equality, freedom, democracy, Amed is a stronghold. There are only 4 days left. We will vote for freedom, equality and fraternity. We must respond to those who seize our will through the trustee. It's time to respond with our vote and color to those who burned down the wall. We must respond with our votes to those who occupy Rojava. And once again, we will show that Amed is a fortress and never bows to tyranny, by voting for the Green Left Party.”
Appeal to the people of Urfa
Baydemir also addressed the people of Urfa, who brought him to the parliament in 2015.
"My esteemed brothers from Riha-Urfa. The city of Halil û Rahman is, for me, first and foremost, a city of pact and fidelity. In 2014, Urfa turned all sociological rules upside down and opened the door of its heart to us. Urfa made history in June 2015. Urfa will write a new beginning on 14 May. Undoubtedly, the AKP-MHP Ergenekon gang has caused great destruction in this country. One of the cities where the biggest of these destruction was paid is Urfa. The key to change is in your hands. Vote for the Green Left Party."
