Bayık: ISIS attacks on behalf of certain states

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-President Cemil Bayık assessed the 15-day resistance in Kobanê, saying: "if ISIS is attacking Kobanê this much, it must be at the wishes of certain states." Bayık added that the Turkish state was using ISIS as a bargaining tool in talks with the coalition.

KCK Executive Council Co-President Cemil Bayık evaluated ISIS attacks on Kobanê for Ronahi TV.

Bayık greeted the YPJ/YPG fighters and the people of Kobanê, saying: ''There have been few such examples of resistance in history. Those heroes are not just resisting for Kobanê. They are resisting for the whole of Rojava, and for the whole of Kürdistan. This is third ISIS onslaught on Kobanê. As they were unsuccessful on the two previous occasions, they are attacking with larger forces and want to take Kobanê. If they are mounting such attacks, it must be at the wishes of certain states.”

Cemil Bayık continued, saying that Turkish state support and encouragement for ISIS has been revealed many times by the press, adding: “Turkey wants to hit the Kurds by means of ISIS,” saying that the aim was to remove the gains obtained by the Kurdish people.

"Turkish state is behind attacks"

Bayık continued, saying: “In fact, the Turkish state is behind these attacks. Even before the attacks on Kobanê started the Turkish authorities warned the Kobanê canton. They said: ‘whoever touches the tomb of Sulaiman Shah (tomb of Ottoman commander within Syria] we will strike them. Sulaiman Shah is in the hands of ISIS, not the hands of the people of Kobanê. This was a message to say, ‘if you resist we will hit you.’ They have transported arms, tanks and munitions by train to Tel Abyad. The Turkish state is firing at YPG vehicles from the other side of the border and trying to obstruct the YPG’s movement. In this way they are assisting ISIS.”

The KCK Executive stressed that Turkey was striking the Kurds with ISIS, aiming to remove the status gained by the struggle of the Kurdish people, and in this way wanting to become influential in the politics of Syria and the Middle East. He added that Turkey had not joined the coalition against ISIS in order to conceal its dirty alliances.

Bayık said the Turkish state was using ISIS as a bargaining tool in talks with the coalition, and that it wanted to establish a buffer zone by emptying Kobanê.
