BDP delegation to visit Siirt

A delegation led by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak, and including BDP deputies, mayors and party assembly members went to Siirt to investigate yesterday's attack on a police school which resulted in the death of four women.

BDP Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaþ and Gültan Kýþanak had this morning released a written statement about both the attack in Ankara and Siirt strongly denouncing these acts as "attacks on people's right to life"

The statement also asked that no question marks should be left in this case. "The investigations should transparent, and the findings should be shared with the public. We share our grief with the public as a whole. We will struggle against these kinds of events so peace and democracy can prevail in our country", the statement added.

The Human Rights Association (ÝHD), the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TÝHV), together with the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (MMO) denounced the attacks.

On the government side it is understood that Interior Minister Ýdris Naim Þahin has also gone to Siirt to investigate the attack there.
