BDP MP Ayhan transferred to Adana Prison

Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) detainee Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Urfa MP Ýbrahim Ayhan in Urfa E Type Prison has been transferred to Adana F Type High Security Prison on Thursday night.

MP Ayhan’s transfer was announced with a written statement by the deputy’s consulting office which said that BDP MP was transferred to an individual prison cell in Adana prison within the knowledge of the Ministry of Justice on grounds of life safety.

The statement by Ayhan’s consulting office evaluated the transfer as an unacceptable approach and reminded of BDP deputies’ negotiations with the Minister of Justice which denied permission for deputies’ transfer to another prison without their consent. The statement remarked that; “All party executives will take necessary steps against this unlawful practice imposed on Ayhan MP who has been subjected to quiet and retiring transfer unbeknown to their families. The Minister of Justice in particular should make a satisfactory statement to the public opinion about deputies’ transfer to other prisons.”

On the other hand, 350 political and ordinary prisoners in the Kurdish region have been transferred to different prisons in Ýzmir, Adana and other parts of the country. Among those transferred are also BDP PM member Mahmut Çelik and Fýrat Distribution worker Mahmut Tutal.
