BDP MPs to visit South Kurdistan

A delegation led by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş is to visit the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Federal Kurdistan Region as guests of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

It is reported that the delegation is to go to Sulaymaniyah today after receiving an invitation from the PUK, the party of Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. Demirtaş will be accompanied by Kars MP Mülkiye Birtane and Van MP Nazmi Gür.

Demirtaş answered journalists' questions, saying they would have a series of meetings during the two-day visit. Demirtaş said they would visit Sulaymaniyah after receiving an invitation from Mollah Bahtiyar, the head of the PUK's Foreign Relations Office. He added that at these meetings the resolution of recently rising tensions between the Kurds and the establishing of national unity would be discussed.
