BDP preparing for local congresses

Preparations are underway for the new period of the Peace and Democracy Party whose thousands of members were arrested with operations carried out under the name of “KCK” (Confederation of Kurdish Communities).

Meeting in Diyarbakýr after the General Assembly, BDP PM Regional Commissions have given the start of the congresses to be held in provinces, districts and towns. The meeting for the congress preparations was attended by PM Member Yýldýz Aktaþ, Diyarbakýr deputies Nursel Aydoðan and Emine Ayna, deputy mayors, BDP provincial and district executives and administrators and members of the municipality council.

Doing a speech at the meeting which started with one minute's silence for all those who lost their lives in the fight for democracy, PM member Yýldýz Aktaþ remarked that preparations have been started in order to be a stronger answer to the process when new governments will be determined in common with the people at public meetings. Aktaþ laid emphasis on the Diyarbakýr Congress which will be the first step of a new period with a powerful government, he added.

Following Yýldýz’s speech, BDP MP Emine Ayna called attention to the recent political developments and underlined the importance of an intense preparation for the congresses.
