Former chair of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Silvan organization, Abdullah Afratun, has been taken into custody as a result of a police raid in his house on Tuesday.
Afratun's house in İplik neighborhood of Amed's Yenişehir district was raided by police teams at noon. He has reportedly been detained in line with a final court order in the scope of the so-called KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) main case he is being tried in.
Afratun was reportedly battered during the police raid. Police officers opened fire into the air when Afratun's family reacted to them for detaining him in a rush, and not even allowing him to wear his shoes before leaving the house.
BDP politician has been taken to the anti-terror department of Diyarbakır police directorate.
