BDP tabled motion on women detained in Erzurum

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Group deputy chair Pervin Buldan tabled a parliamentary question on Friday in relation with the rights violations against women detained in Erzurum E Type Closed prison.

It has been stated in the parliamentary question that political prisoners were being insulted and harassed by ordinary prisoners during transfers to hospital. Buldan also quoted strip searches upon arrival and long hours of detention after hearings.

Buldan asked Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin to answer.

Buldan has also noted that women complained they were not freed from handcuffs during medical examination and that they were being sent back to prison without being treated.
