BDP to go to USA

A delegation of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and DTK (Democratic Society Congress) will be holding talks in U.S. between April 22-29.

The delegation, which consists of BDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaþ and Gültan Kýþanak as well as DTK co-chair and Mardin MP Ahmet Türk and Van MP Nazmi Gür, will make a one-week visit to U.S. cities Washington and New York to hold official talks with senior authorities concerning the AKP government’s approach towards the Kurdish problem, the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the current problems in Syria and BDP’s proposals for the solution of the Kurdish problem. As co-chairs are expected to hold a conference at Colombia University during their visit, the delegation is also reported to be planning to make public meeting in the city of San Francisco.

The delegation is also expected to make a new appointment to U.S. representation office of the BDP.
