A huge blast has occurred in Nusaybin district of Mardin late Sunday evening. A fire has started as a result of the blast which has reportedly caused casualties.

The blast which occurred in a market on Sakarya Avenue in Yeni Turan neighborhood has also damaged the houses and workplaces around. Many people remain stuck in the building of the market.

While the cause of the blast was not immediately clear, a number of armored vehicles have been dispatched to the scene.
