At least twenty-one people have been killed today when a minibus exploded in the southern town of Noa. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group among the dead are four children and six women.

According to the Observatory the minibus drove over a mine.

The explosion was reported in Syria's Deraa province.

Violence has continued despite pleas from regional Arab and Muslim organizations for a ceasefire to mark the Muslim festival of Eid al Adha.
