Bombardment and ambushes by the Turkish military

People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Office has issued a statement reporting that military operations carried out by the Turkish army are continuing to increase while ambushes are being set up by Turkish soldiers at many points with an aim to create conflict.
HPG provided a long list of the military activity of the Turkish army in and over the guerrilla controlled areas.
On 1 May the Turkish air force carried out reconnaissance flights over the Xakurke area of the Medya Defence Zones, said the statement of the HPG, adding that aerial activity continues to increase over guerrilla areas. Accordingly, reconnaissance flights were also carried out on 1 May over the Avasin border line and the Suke area, and on 2 May over the Haftanin area, and on 1 May over the Gare area and over the Metina area.
The HPG reported that Turkish soldiers launched a bombardment with mortar fire on the Martyr Rahime area in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari on 1 May, adding that the guerrilla forces responded to the fire with heavy weapons.
On 1 May, 20 Turkish soldiers from the Bilican military post set ambushes in the area between Deve masiya and Tepe Munzur at the border of the Zap region, adding that a bombardment was also carried out from the same military posts on Kepe Miriska and Talisa areas.
HPG further reported that Turkish soldiers set ambushes in the areas around the villages of Gundêkê Melê, Guza Kurkê, Besta Boyê and Nala Benî of Şırnak between 30 April and 2 May, while movement of armoured vehicles was carried out in the villages of Dêrik, Kuzerîp, Cirzê, Kır Dilek, Şutê, Ewîna and Dengiza of Stewre district of Mardin on 1 May.
HPG said intense military activity in the military posts in Cukurca district of Hakkari and at the border on 1 May was observed, while military deployment was carried out from the military posts at the border to Şırnak.
The Turkish military forces set ambushes on the road to the dam construction area in the Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed, reported the statement, adding that the guerrilla forces carried out a warning action on the bridge on the road leading the dam last night, while Turkish forces launched an operation this morning blockading all the roads to the dam with armoured vehicles.
HPG lastly reported that Turkish military forces set up check points on a road near Kele village of Farqin on 1 May at 16:00, withdrawing the same day in the evening hours.
