Boy who throw shoe at PM Erdoðan still in jail
Shouting ‘thief’, ‘assassin’ and ‘long live Kurdistan’, Hokman Joma threw a shoe to PM Recep Tayip Erdoðan during his visit to the city of Seville on 22 February 2010. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 408 € fine.
Despite the recognition that the sentence was to heavy considering the crime, the court said they had no choice but to charge him to the minimum permitted punishment. Besides, the petition of amnesty, which Joma proposed in March 2011, has not been taken into consideration until last month. Joma, who has not had any prison leave during these two years, can choose to ask the 3 grade regime, which would let him to go out of the prison during the day, after spending two years in the prison.
