Candidate Kürkçü opened Mersin election office
Labor, Democracy and Freedom Bloc candidate Ertugrul Kürkcü opened two election offices last night in Mersin.
Speaking at the crowd who gathered at the opening, Kürkcü expressed his criticism to the AKP government and Prime Minister Erdogan. Reminding Erdogan of the time when, crying, he told of his four months in prison, Kürkcü said; “Nine years ago Erdogan said in a broken voice ‘I am sad. I read a poem and stayed 4 months in prison'. However, today he himself put the children he catches on the streets in jail for no crime. He ignores the most basic rights of a people such as peace, democracy and freedom. When someone forgets somebody he owes money to, he thinks his debt also dies out. As a commercial man, Erdogan may think that he can solve the problem this way but we will remind him that he owes us peace, freedom and the soul of thousands whose lives he has stolen."
Kürkcü then added that "Your votes shall be ruined unless we make the parliament unbearable for Erdogan. He says that the Kurdish problem has ended. You will see if it has ended or not. If we can’t solve the problem at the parliament, we will find the solution at people's assemblies and on streets”.
Underlining also that people has the right to get education in their mother-tongue if they want, Kürkcü continued his speech as follows; “We demand an unconditioned general amnesty for all. We demand the bettering of Abdullah Ocalan’s conditions." Kürkcü also pointed out that "while many people of no value at all, address call each other with the word ‘Dear’, thousands of Kurds are persecuted for addressing Ocalan as "Dear". This is why - added Kürkcü - we are shouting from here; ‘Dear, Dear, Dear Ocalan’. If the rulers of a country do not respect a leader a people pay homage to, they can never end the war. Here is the example of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. The racist regime had to respect him because his people paid respect to him. Today there isn’t a racist regime in South Africa and Mandela founded a new republic there. Comrades, - ended Kürkcü with emphasis - we will also establish a new republic”.
