A huge explosion has occurred at the entrance of the Elazığ Police Headquarters in Elazığ province Thursday morning.

The police HQ building was largely damaged and dozens of ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

According to witnesses, a car bomb was detonated in front of the building. A number of cars parked in the area burned as a result of the explosion.

The police lodgement near the police HQ was also damaged in the explosion which has reportedly left many dead and injured.
