While civil society organizations rushed to the aid of earthquake victims in Armutlu, state teams started partial debris removal work with insufficient equipment. On the second day of the earthquake, assistance was delivered to the earthquake victims in Armutlu thanks to Civil Society Solidarity initiative, which, two days after the earthquake, established a mobile kitchen and provided people with hot soup, tea, water and aid.
There is a medicine section, a first aid section, distribution as well as mobile vehicles in the tent set up by the organization. Confirmed requests for assistance are responded to immediately.
One of the biggest issues is toilets that were not installed. This, said volunteers, poses a “risk of serious epidemics that may occur in the future. This is a serious shortcoming. We have installed portable toilets since the day we arrived. However, this is not enough. No aid has been provided by the state here."
