Co-chairs and 9 MPs of the HDP detained in house raids

Co-chairs and 9 MPs of the HDP have been taken into custody as a result of house raids tonight.

The AKP government's increasingly ongoing operations of political genocide have tonight targeted the deputies of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) who were detained as a result of simultaneous house raids in line with the detention order of Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor.

Police forces initially raided the houses of HDP Co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ as well as Amed MPs Nursel Aydoğan and Ziya Pir, Şırnak MPs Leyla Birlik and Ferhat Encü, Hakkari MP Selma Irmak, Mardin MPs Gülser Yıldırım, Batman MP Mehmet Ali Aslan, Ankara MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Hakkari MP Abdullah Zeydan.

It is reported that Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor has issued a detention warrant for all the deputies of the HDP.

In the meantime, police forces have also raided the HDP headquarters in Turkish capital Ankara.
