The 10th hearing of the case against Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP in the previous term Gulser Yildirim based on 8 summaries of proceedings prepared for her speeches between 2012 and 2016.

Yildirim didn’t attend the hearing in the Mardin Heavy penal Court No.3 because she refuses to use the video conferencing system SEGBIS.

The prosecution demanded up to 18 years and 3 months in prison for Yildirim.

“THE COURTS ARE DISCRIMINATING”

Yildirim’s lawyer Erdal Kuzu said: “If it was an AKP politician instead of a HDP politician who said these same things, they wouldn’t be on trial now.”

Lawyer Azad Yildirim said the case is unlawful and that courts are discriminating against HDP MPs in the trials.
