Öcalan’s book “Sociology of Freedom” presented in Rosario

Abdullah Öcalan’s book "Sociology of Freedom” was presented in Rosario at an event organized by the local grassroots movement Poder Popular and hosted by lecturers at the National University of Rosario (UNR) and the Researchers' Union.

As part of the events organized to mark the 97th anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara's birth, the book “Sociology of Freedom” by Abdullah Öcalan was presented in the city of Rosario, Argentina.

The event was hosted by the National University of Rosario (UNR) lecturers and Researchers Union and organized by the local grassroots movement Poder Popular. Members of the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative also participated in the event, where the fundamental principles of the Democratic Confederalism paradigm were discussed.

Many academics and activists participated in the event, which witnessed discussions on various topics such as direct democracy, women's freedom, ecology, and the autonomy of peoples.


Following the presentation, a collective dialogue was held within the framework of Öcalan's theoretical and practical contributions to the philosophy of freedom. Members of the organization shared their experiences of struggle, thoughts, and suggestions.

During the event, the relevance of Che Guevara's revolutionary thinking was commended. His criticism of the capitalist system, his internationalist stance, and his commitment to revolution were highlighted in relation to the new social model developing in Kurdistan, which is based on democracy, ecology, and women's freedom.

Book promotion events for the "Sociology of Freedom" are scheduled to continue in the coming days in the Argentine cities of Córdoba, Villa Guardini, and La Plata.
