Court reject BDP deputy request to be released

Diyarbakýr 6th High Criminal Court rejected Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) jailed deputy for Þýrnak Faysal Sarýyýldýz’s application for his release.

Sarýyýldýz filed a petition to the court board within the scope of the 3rd judicial package which has recently been approved by the Turkish Assembly on 3 July.

Faysal Sarýyýldýz who was arrested in the scope of the so-called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) operation in June of 2009 was elected as a deputy of the Labor, Freedom and Democracy Block in the general elections in June of 2011. Sarýyýldýz is still held in Mardin E Type Closed Prison.
