The trial of the case brought against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van MP Murat Sarısaç for the posts he shared on social media between 2010 and 2015 was held. Despite Sarısaç's parliamentary immunity, the Van 5th High Criminal Court, which did not put the trial on hold, announced its verdict at the hearing.

The court sentenced Sarısaç to 1 year, 6 months and 22 days in prison for "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" and decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict.
