The 15 prisoners have turned their indefinite hunger strike into death fast on 30 April, saying the was a need to step up the resistance. 

The PKK and PAJK prisoners had announced their decision motivating it with the need to break the silence surrounding the hunger strike resistance led by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven demanding the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan, who is imprisoned in İmralı Prison.
