Death toll in Italy rises to 3,405, surpassing China

Death toll from coronavirus has risen to 3,405 in Italy and to 150 in the U.S.

According to official authorities in Italy, death toll from coronavirus has surpassed China. Officials reported that 427 more people have died during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 3,405. The deadliest toll of the coronavirus pandemic was thus recorded in Italy.

In China, where the coronavirus first erupted in December, a total of 3,245 people have died. The pandemic has killed 1,204 people in Iran and 767 in Spain.

In the meantime, the number of confirmed cases has risen to 10,491 in the U.S. where 150 people have died.
