Kurdish and Internationalist activists participated in a discussion round with students from the University of Bologna about the current political situation in Kurdistan and the importance of defending Kurdistan and the achievements of the Rojava Revolution.
They were discussing the meaning of Internationalism and how the political ideology of Abdullah Öcalan - Democratic Confederalism - can be a solution to the struggles not only in Kurdistan but also in Europe.
After the discussion, they watched together the documentary "The war is not over" by Ivan Grozny about the continuing war in North-East Syria caused by ISIS and the Turkish state.
The discussion round was part of an occupation of the University of Bologna by the university collective LUNA. On the other days of the occupation there were discussions about the right to the city and the housing market in Bologna, a talk about Palestine, a publishing fair, concerts and dinner together.
The activists also used the discussion round to collect signatures for the campaign "Justice for Kurds" to end the criminalization of the PKK in Europe and to mobilize for the demonstration on the 11th of June in Bologna as part of the Global Action Day against the war in Kurdistan.
The demonstration "Rompiamo il Silenzio - Fermiamo la Guerra In Kurdistan - Defend Kurdistan" will take place tomorrow 11 June at 4 pm as part of the Global Day of Action in Piazza Nettuno.
