A delegation from the Health Committee of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria visited World Health Organization officials in the Tuscany region of Italy.

The delegation had an official invitation from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Co-Chair of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Health Committee, who headed the delegation to Italy, Ciwan Mistefa said: "This is the first visit of the Health Committee to European countries to talk about health issues in our region. We came here upon an official invitation by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was held with many officials from the Italian Ministry of Health."

Ciwan Mistefa told Rojava channel: "A meeting was held with World Health Organization officials in the Tuscany region of Italy. During the meeting, we talked about the development of the health situation in Northern and Eastern Syria and how we would carry out this development. The health plan prepared in Northern and Eastern Syria was also discussed.”

Mistefa continued: "The Italian delegation expressed its satisfaction with what has been done in the health system in Northern and Eastern Syria and showed that it is ready to support this project.”

The visit will last for several days and meetings will be held with many officials of the ministry of health as well as with officials from the World Health Organisations and other institutions working in Syria.

Dr. Ciwan said: "In order to prepare a health system worthy of our people in Northern and Eastern Syria, many European countries will be visited."
