DEM Party Co-Chairs visit jailed Kurdish politicians in Sincan Prison

DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan announced that they exchanged ideas with the politicians held in Sincan Prison and received their suggestions.

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan visited Leyla Güven, Sebahat Tuncel, Ayla Akat Ata, Ayşe Gökkan and Zeynep Boğa in Sincan F Type Prison.

Some of the mentioned politicians are joining the hunger strike action in prisons demanding an end to the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held in incommunicado detention and has not been heard from for nearly three years.

In a written statement, Bakırhan and Hatimoğulları said: "Firstly, we convey the greetings of our friends to the peoples of Turkey and all the oppressed. During our meeting with our comrades who closely follow the world and country agenda with high motivation, we discussed the absolute isolation, the Kobanê Conspiracy Case, the Kurdish question, the developments in the region, the multiple crises in Turkey and the local elections."

Stating that they held talks with comprehensive evaluations with each of the prisoners they visited, the DEM Party Co-Chairs said, "We exchanged ideas on all agenda items and received their suggestions. Our comrades, who are being held as political hostages, stated that they continue to resist with high morale and determination, and that they have infinite trust and belief that we will achieve success through joint struggle inside and outside. We will frequently continue our meetings with our imprisoned comrades to determine party policies. As we have done until today, we will develop all kinds of struggle for our friends to regain their freedom and we will not step back from this struggle."
