HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş has arrived in Suruç district of Urfa where a mass resistance by the Kurdish people is taking place since 15 September in protest against the intensified attacks of ISIS gangs in Kobanê, and the growing resistance of the YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Protection Units) fighters and the people of West Kurdistan.

Welcomed by members of the HDP in Aligör town of Suruç early Tuesday morning, Demirtaş went to the DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP) office where he had a meeting with party executives, mayors and deputies.

The HDP co-chair later left for the border villages where he will visit the people joining the vigil in solidarity with Kobanê.
