Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaþ evaluated the news published today on Cumhuriyet and Taraf papers about the AKP governments new strategy on the Kurdish question.
The scheme presented on some papers today is nothing new, it is the states security strategy that is already being followed, said Demirtaþ in his message on twitter and added; It will be nothing but to keep up appearances to express the already existing security concept with new words as this concept was confirmed to have fizzled as of most recent Newroz events.
Demirtaþ also reacted to the reports published by several papers which claimed that the police officer who died during Newroz celebrations in Cizre the day before was killed as a result of an armed attack launched from BDP building in the district. Demirtaþ decribed the news as a villainous slander and added;
In contradistinction to this slander, the building of our party was attacked by police with weapons. The BDP district chair was badly beaten and he is still held under intense care now. These slanders are nothing more than a defamation that aims to cover up the attacks against our party.
