Demonstrations for Öcalan's freedom in Germany and France

In the French city of Montpellier as well as the German cities of Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart activities were carried out for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In the French city of Montpellier as well as the German cities of Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart activities were carried out for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

MONTPELLIER

In French city Montpellier a march was organized for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan. Following the call of Kurdish Democratic Society Center (NCDK), people from Kurdistan gathered at the Peyrou Pitot Park and walked together to the Place de la Comédie, the Comedy Square located in the city centre. Slogans chanted during the march were "Long live leader Apo", "Freedom for Öcalan" and "Murderer Erdogan" among others, also many fliers were distributed.

At the Comedy Square Co-chair of the NCDK in Montpellier Cevat Güneş gave a statement, saying: "They want to convict the entire Kurdish population in the person of Öcalan. The freedom of leader Apo is at the same time the freedom of the Kurdish people. We will continue our struggle without a pause until our leader Apo becomes free".

The activity ended following speeches.

HANNOVER

In the German city of Hannover a demonstration under the motto "Freedom for Öcalan, status for Kurdistan" organized by the Kurdish Democratic Society Center (NCDK) took place.

The tent activity which was launched on the 22nd June by the Women's Council Ronahi ended after this demonstration in front of the main train station.

At the beginning of the activity German police controlled the flags and posters of the Kurds, causing some reaction on part of the demonstrators who voiced their rejection to the ban with which the German state aims to criminalize the Kurdish people.

Co-chair of the NCDK in Hannover Ciwan Çewlig gave a speech at the demonstration, saying: "Leader Abdullah Öcalan is a hostage in the hands of the fascist occupying Turkish state for 18 years. Until the freedom of leader Apo, this people will take to the streets every day and continue with their struggle for freedom"

MUNICH

In Munich city the information tent activity launched by NCDK one week ago under the slogan "Freedom for Öcalan", has ended.

Many fliers and leaflets were handed out and signatures collected during the demonstration. Speeches made here stressed that: "The freedom of Öcalan is equal to the freedom of the entire Kurdish people. Until we achieve freedom, we will go on with our activities."

STUTTGART

Also in Stuttgart the tent activity launched following the call of the Kurdish Democratic Society Center in Germany (NAV-DEM), launched two days ago with the same aim, has come to an end. Demonstrators distributed a number of leaflets informing about the conditions and circumstances Abdullah Öcalan is kept in at the Rotebühlplatz Square.

To show her support for the activity, a German woman danced four whole hours tirelessly to Kurdish music.

The protesters proceeded with their demonstration despite all provocation efforts of Turkish fascists.
