The meeting organized by the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block newly elected deputies in Cegerxwin Cultural centre in Diyarbakýr has ended.
BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) co-chairs Filiz Koçali and Hamit Geylani, opened the meeting which was attended also by DTK (Democratic Society Congress) co-chairs and MPs Ahmet Türk and Aysel Tuðluk.
Among the deputies who attended the meeting were Þerafettin Elçi, Altan Tan, Istanbul MP Sýrrý Süreyya Önder, Mardin MP Erol Dora, Mersin MP Ertuðrul Kürkçü.
A number of issues were discussed at the meeting.
Before the swearing-in at the Turkish parliament on June 24, the Block has decided to establish a commission, which will include BDP Co-Chairs Hamit Geylani and Filiz Kocali, Sirt MP Gültan Kýsanak, Diyarbakýr MP and former KADEP President Serafettin Elci, Istanbul MP and former EMEP President Levent Tüzel, to issue a declaration on June 23. The statement will clarify the Block's standing in the parliament, the way, methods and strategies to be followed for a solution to problems. The statement also will explain the attitude towards this current process, and will possibly include reference to a Democratic Republic and Democratic Nation. It has been reported that the declaration will be announced in a press conference to be held at the BDP headquarters or at the parliament.
BDP TO FORM ITS GROUP
On the other hand, it is reported that the Block has taken the decision to create a group in the parliament before the swearing-in and the BDP group to be formed will maintain is nature of Block.
