Deputy Kmiec visited hunger striker Iba in Toronto

Yusuf Iba is continuing his action despite the serious health problems he has experienced. He has refused treatment when he was taken to hospital.

Canada Conservative Party deputy Tom Kmiec visited Kurdish activist Yusuf Iba who has been on hunger strike for 117 days in Toronto.

Kmiec said that Iba’s action had a big echo in Canada and had a profound impact on him.

Yusuf Iba joined the hunger strike resistance led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven demanding the end of isolation against the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, 117 days ago.

Iba and the hunger strike resistance have reached the Canadian Parliament and a call to support Iba was made.

Deputy Tom Kmiec visited Iba together with his delegation. He said that he will present Iba’s case and demands to the Canadian Foreign Minister, and he would follow up that he takes the necessary measures to put pressure on the Turkish state.
