Detention operations in six provinces
Ten people were taken into custody as a result of a KCK operation which targeted young people in Bitlis, Mardin, Van, Siirt and Diyarbakýr on 18 June.
The house raids within the scope of the operation were carried out upon the instruction by Public Prosecutions Office of Van. Seven young people were detained in Bitlis, one in Mardin, one in Van and one in Diyarbakýr.
Detainees were taken to a court in Van. Legal proceedings for detainees are reported to continue.
Six other people were taken into custody in Çerkezköy district of Van Monday morning.
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Çerkezköy district executives Servet Demir and Ersin Akdaþ, Berken Ayaz, Ezber Mentaþ and two others were taken into custody in house raids and taken to Çorlu Police Directorate. The reason of detentions has not been disclosed yet.
