DİSK (Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions) Secretary General Arzu Çerkezoğlu has been detained by police in Istanbul.

Çerkezoğlu was taken into custody at Atatürk Airport, short before leaving for Germany, on alleged grounds of “insulting Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan”.

An arrest warrant has reportedly been issued for the Secretary General of the DİSK.
