Diyarbakir is getting ready for the first elections meeting by the "Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block". The meeting will be on Saturday 14 May and it is organized to present the six candidates for the constituency.
Preparations are underway to ensure the maximum security and facilities as it is understood that tens of thousand of people will join the meeting.
The candidates for the Diyarbakir constituency are Leyla Zana, Nursel Aydoðan, Emine Ayna, Altan Tan and Þerafettin Elçi. The sixth candidate is Hatip Dicle in prison because he is one of the defendants in the so called KCK (Kurdish Communities Confederation) trial. Elections work is carried out by the city BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) president M. Ali Aydýn.
The meeting will begin at 1pm in the Station Square.
As well as the speech by the different candidates there will be room for music with Kurdish rapper Serhado, Seyda Perinçek and Koma Pel.
