Activists of the Democratic Free Women's Movement (DÖKH) started a march from the main Kurdish city Diyarbakır to the Agit Suruç Martyrs' Cemetery in Bendere region near Bagok mountain, in Mardin's (Mêrdîn) Nusaybin (Nisêbîn) district.
The march is aimed at protesting the demolition of the cemetery of 44 HPG (People's Defense Forces) and PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) guerrillas on 3 September.
The march from Diyarbakır started following a press conference at Sümer Park on Thursday. Speaking here, DÖKH activist Neslihan Başak said that they were protesting the government's failure to abandon its policies and to take steps serving the democratic resolution process in search of a peaceful solution to the Kurdish question.
The march to the cemetery of Kurdish guerrillas will witness further participation in Diyarbakır's Bismil district and Mardin's Kızıltepe and Nusaybin districts.
