The number of people taken into custody last night after the Peace Meeting in Kadýköy, Istanbul, rose to 63.
The meeting was violently attacked by the police who threw tear gas canisters at the crowd. The peaceful meeting to remember World Peace Day turned into a nightmare when police attacked the crowd.
Kadýköy square was turned into a battlefield, with people trying to escape from the violence of the police. Many people, included children were injured. Things got so bad as to prompt the organizers of the meeting to call it to an end.
